Your Questions About Healthy Drinking Water Ph

Steven asks…

How can I help clear up my face?

Ok, I’m 14 years old, and I know that there have probably been a MILLION questions on Yahoo! Answers about acne and pimples but I wanted to know what I need to do to clear my face of acne. I know that I don’t have a bad condition of acne, only around my nose and occasionally forehead, but every time it starts to clear up, I get more acne! I wash my face twice a day with a mild bar of soap, occasionally use rubbing alcohol to dry up the oily area around my skin, eat healthy, and drink lots of water. My skin is kind of oily, but not very oily. How can I stop acne from happening? My mom said she would buy me whatever products I wanted, but do they work? Has anyone tried Proactiv, and does it work? What about KlearAction? Also, does the Clean and Clear Invisible Blemish treatment work? What are some home remedies? If you know anything about skincare or acne removal, PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!
Also, my skin is somewhat sensitive.

water maker answers:

I’m 16, and I’m in the same position you are in.
I go to the dermatologist, but nothing he’s given me has helped much.
Before you try ANYTHING ELSE, let me give you some advice on what to do next.
1. Wash your hands regularly, and keep your hands off your face. (Don’t lean on your palm while listening to boring history lectures, haha)
2. DON’T use rubbing alcohol, astringent, toner, of ANY TYPE with alcohol in it. Alcohol strips your skin of its good stuff and leaves it red and irritated. This should impove your redness.
3. Use a oil free gentle soap, like Dove, and wash no more than 3 times a day. (morning, after school, at night)
4. Use as little makeup as possible, and use oil free stuff, like Physicians Formula (I LOVE the new mineral makeup stuff) or Neutrogena. Apply the stuff with dobber things and makeup brushes instead of rubbing it in with your finger.
5. Take all your acne products, and put them on the shelf. Your skin needs time to re-balance itself to its natural pH and air out for about 2 weeks. If it gets bad:
6. Are your zits big and cystic? Introduce your skin to an over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide cream (something Neutrogena I’d reccommend) with a low concentration, a high concentration can dry out your skin. Apply a thin film over your face at night, over the affected areas.
7. If your zits are small and not hurting like big zits, try something with salylic (I think thats how its spelled) acid in it. Neutrogena has stuff with that too. Again, use a low concentration of it, and apply it as a thin film over your face at night.
8. DON’T BE TEMPTED INTO THE MEDICATED FACE WASH! Soap is all you need. If you get into the routine of using a million products together, just take a few steps back, and put them all away and keep it simple.

Lastly, if none of it works, go to a dermatologist.
Get a good one too, I think I’m going to switch mine.

Good luck.

Chris asks…

Is alkaline drinking water really healthier than regular water?

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about the benefits of alkaline water, but it is hard to sort through all the hype. So many health fads come and go, and I’m wondering if this is just another passing trend. Is alkaline water actually good for you, and what are the benefits of drinking it?

water maker answers:

Yes, alkaline drinking water is a healthy alternative to regular bottled or tap water.

The reason? The body is full of acidic substances; most food has high acid levels, and cells give off acidic waste products during respiration. However, too much acid in the body can be harmful. High acid levels in the blood stream can be very damaging, slowing cell functions and potentially leading to chronic illnesses. Alkalized water can help remedy this situation.

Alkalized drinking water has a higher pH than regular water, meaning it is more basic than acidic. This water can help to neutralize the acids in the body. This makes cells function more smoothly, and it promotes overall good health. Many people report that their thirst is quenched much more quickly when they drink alkaline drinking water. Additionally, they report feeling less tired and having more energy.

Mandy asks…

Is drinking water high in calcium bad for one’s health?

The water in my apartment is so high in calcium (and probably other minerals, too) that it looks like skim milk when I turn on the faucet. My cat and I both drink this water, and we cannot afford a water filter. Should I stick to bottled water, or save money by just drinking the calcium water? It thins out when I let it run but I am never able to see the bottom of the cup.

water maker answers:

Calcium in water and certain other minerals in water are healthy.

Calcium and magnesium rich water has a higher PH and that is better than acidic water. Mineral rich water is known as hard water and can leave deposits on glass shower enclosures and rings in the toilet bowl.

Vinegar will dissolve these deposits and so will CLR.

The water likely has high calcium and magnesium. Letting the water run will dilute it. The water sitting in tank ready to flow Is likely absorbing the minerals that may cling to the inside of the piping while it sits.

Here is an article about the Health benefits of bathing in and drinking mineral rich waters.

Some minerals in excess can be harmful. Such as manganese and very very high iron.

Calcium and magnesium, however in hard water is shown to protect against heart disease and softened water increases heart disease.

Here is a link and excerpt discussing the link to soft water and heart disease.’

http://www.byobwater.com/minerals_in_water.htm

FROM THE LINK: According to a July 2006 article in WATER CONDITIONING & PURIFICATION MAGAZINE entitled “Calcium and Magnesium in Your Drinking Water” by C.F. Michaud “Between 1957 and 2003, more than 80 research studies were conducted comparing the incidence of CVD (cardiovascular disease) and the consumption of soft water.

Almost every one of those studies showed an inverse correlation linking the lack of calcium and magnesium in drinking water and increased CVD (with best correlation shown between magnesium and CVD).”

And elsewhere in the same article it was stated, “Calcium and magnesium in water has the same bioavailability as from milk.” You don’t have to drink water with calcium and magnesium in it but you do need to obtain calcium and magnesium from some source.

Thomas asks…

Anyone know how i can make my own ionized alkaline water without a machine? Like ph drops or something? Any in?

I am trying to make healty Drinking water for my family and i. I cant afford a Kangen Water machine at the moment and really am trying to find out info on what i can use to make Healthy Drinking Water. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!

water maker answers:

I looked up the Kangen machine and it’s $1280 + shipping. It filters & ionizes water.

I personally would suggest the refurb water distiller with minerals & add an ionizer filter.

You can get a refurbished water distiller that adds minerals to the distilled water for less than $100 shipped (check their other items, you can get $10 cheaper in a short term “Buy It Now” listing)
distiller – $ 86 – 96 with ship cost includes mineral dispenser

You could use a Zerowater pitcher which will filter to distilled water levels for less than $45 shipped but it is a slow process & the filters don’t last long. I would suggest adding unrefined salt to the water to add minerals.

Theory: The Water Vortex energizer utilizes Magnetohydrodynamics. By treating the water magnetically, this effects the ionization process.

Linda asks…

Does anybody know the health benefits of drinking glacier water?

I have heard that it is more natural, it is often lava-filtered, and something about the ionic exchange. One brand that I am looking at has a pH of 7.3, and a TDS of 24.

water maker answers:

Don’t fall for it, its bunk… It might be a slight bit better then your filtered tap but most bottled water is not healthier then your own water at home, you got to understand something, your body is used to the type of water you have been drinking for years. That’s the most healthier for you. This includes all the crap they sell on TV that makes you feel good for drinking, maybe at some vitamins and minerals but all in all your getting duped into buying something that’s pretty much free
